Community Play Day THIS WEEKEND!

Harper’s Playground and FACT Oregon will team up to provide a fun day in North Portland on August 17

Power Pumper is excited to see our Portland friends this weekend at Harper’s Playground! This space is dedicated to welcoming parents, children, neighbors, and everyone else for a safe, enjoyable day in the the park during this wonderful weather.

Community Play Day in North Portland

The plan is for community members to gather around 11 a.m. on Sunday, August 17. Food trucks will be providing snacks all day long, and there will be various family-friendly activities happening until about 6:30 p.m.

Please plan ahead for parking, or consider having a family bike ride to arrive! Following the play day, there will be a showing of Back to the Future as part of the Movies in the Park series.

Harper’s Playground will host several similar events through August and September. The group, founded by April and Cody Goldberg, promotes the idea of inclusive play spaces where children learn to develop positive habits through activities, lessons, and more.

The Family and Community Together organization, a founding partner for the second Community Play Day, is also dedicated to nurturing kindness and inclusive behavior among children. According to the FACT Oregon website, it going to be quite the exciting, event-filled day!

“There will be lots of fun activities for families: live music, food vendors, face painting, sports activities, a dunk tank, and a misting tent to cool off in. Come play at this amazing all accessible playground as we celebrate community, inclusion, and play!”

I am reaching out to invite Power Pumper to appear on KGW’s Portland Today show. We are interested in doing a live, studio demo, to show what the Power Pumper is, and how it can be used to help children exercise and enhance development. Please let me know if you’re interested, and we can discuss dates. Tia York, Executive Producer, Portland Today
